Maharashtra RERA boasts of having the most number of residential projects registered under it across the country. As per the RERA norms, all registered projects are mandated to submit their project details on the RERA website. Here’s a step-by-step guide to navigate through the website and extract all real estate project details.
Of all the States that notified the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 rules, MahaRERA has been the most active in terms of executing the norms across the State. The State regulator came into force in May 2017, much before other State’s had formed their regulatory authorities. Interestingly, MahaRERA also takes care of the property registrations in Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
As per the data available on the official MahaRERA website, till date, the State has 33,371 projects registered with the regulatory authority. Further, out of the 3,947 complaints registered with the authority, it has passed orders on 2,260 complaints. However, many homebuyers are still not aware of the process to check various project related details along with its RERA-compliance. Finding project related details
-Under the Registration tab, click on ‘Registered Projects.’ Under ‘Search Project Details’, select ‘Registered Projects’.
-Type the name of the project and click on search. The project along with details will appear in the search results. On clicking ‘View’, homebuyers can see various details of the project including locality, project type, ongoing status and proposed completion date.
Checking litigations on realty projects
Using the MahaRERA portal, homebuyers can also find details of a project stuck in a legal row along with the order passed on it. To view the same:
-Click on Appellate Tribunal -> Orders
-You can either search the order by typing the name in the search bar or look out for the same under the list
Being the most active regulatory authority across the country, the MahaRERA has not only streamlined the process but has also done a fair job at regulating the real estate sector in Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, which has certainly boosted the buyer and investor sentiment.
